- No one likes hearing this
No one likes hearing this
but it's the truth...
Around 34.6 times a week, I get asked, “Luca I am a total beginner, what camera should I buy to start making content?”
My answer: “Hello dear friend, you should just start with what you have”
If that is your phone, use that
If that is your dad’s second-hand Olympus, use that (my dad actually has a second-hand Olympus)
I started with an iPhone 8
I say that because it should be relaxing to hear.
You don’t need to sink thousands of dollars to get going here
Because the camera is not going to be the item that makes you good at this
You knowing how to use it is
Like when a none photographer says: “Wow your camera takes amazing photos” …….. cheers bro… *flying knee*
I am all for great cameras with amazing specs, trust me, I love them and I use them daily.
But upgrade to them when you have the foundations and have mastered the basics
Let me say that again: Master the basics! (composition, photo editing, Shutter speed, ISO, and aperture)
If you want to know the best iPhone camera settings for amazing photos… watch this video:
Once you have mastered this on your smartphone - when you upgrade to your first camera you won’t have to go through the learning curve of how to use it
It’ll already be second nature
People seem to think that if they just bought this or they just had that
Then everything would open like floodgates and success, clients, money, views, and followers would come flushing forward…
That is not the case, because you have to learn, you have to earn your stripes
Without the basics… it is irrelevant what camera you have.
As always, have fun out there, ya beauties
bisou bisou!
